Studio Lux, LLC approaches each project as a team, each member bringing their own skills into play as we combine more than 50 years of experience in all aspects of lighting design. Our designs are responsive to architecture, life-style, and environmental challenges.
Studio Lux, LLC designers have received recognition for projects encompassing the Residential, Commercial, Hospitality, Religious and Civil arenas throughout the United States and in several foreign countries. This recognition includes awards presented by industry-related organizations, independent magazines and other societies such as the AIA.
Embracing a "concept to completion" philosophy, we participate in the architectural design process to better integrate lighting equipment into the overall design. Our process for design and construction administration is to communicate often through technology, renderings, and frequent sketches that reveal the marriage between field conditions, the design goals, and time and budget constraints leading us to a successful end result.

Studio Lux provides budgeting analytics to align fixture budgets commensurate with the project scope.

Studio Lux provides State and local jurisdiction power usage compliance evaluations. This entails filling out all necessary compliance forms in Washington State or providing support to the electrical contractor around the world.

Studio Lux provides jobsites support during construction to ensure that the installation is in accordance with the lighting design. As a part of the support offered, we generate and reply to information requests; field or office generated, and detail solutions to field constraints.

Studio Lux, LLC staff provides training seminars for Architects, Interior Designers and end users at local institutions such as the Art Institute of Seattle, and at individual offices as requested.

Studio Lux, LLC will visit existing facilities to ascertain how existing lighting installations may be upgraded to be more energy efficient, and will provide specifications and budget pricing for the proposed upgrades.

Studio Lux, LLC tailors each project to achieve the best performance from the lighting system through a focus and aiming process during which we install lamps, lenses and louvers as required to best enhance art and architecture, as well as task and ambient lighting.

This includes plans, elevations and details as needed to fully communicate the design concept. Drawings are supported with full equipment specifications, fixture and control schedules, fixture cuts and details needed for bidding and installation. Additional documentation includes light level calculation reports, comparative cost analysis and energy code compliance reports as applicable.

Studio Lux, LLC will perform and/or assist in final light level scene adjustments in coordination with the focus and aiming session.

With our Plan Check services, Studio Lux, LLC will review lighting designs and specifications created by others (such as architects and interior designers) to confirm that the designed systems will provide adequate illumination, are positioned in the correct locations, are energy-efficient and low maintenance (as required), and that the fixtures are of the quality needed to perform for years. This service is provided for projects where the budget does not allow for a full lighting design.

Lighting design is a marriage of technical and aesthetic knowledge. To ensure that our lighting designs provide the appropriate illuminance for each task (ambient, task and accent lighting), Studio Lux, LLC performs computer-generated lighting calculations and will provide printouts to our clients as requested.

As requested, Studio Lux, LLC will provide a life cycle analysis of our designs, or of existing lighting installations to illustrate the costs of owning and operating the lighting system. We can also perform comparative economic studies of several lighting system approaches to a particular lighting condition.

Prior to design work, Studio Lux, LLC visits the site to survey and document existing conditions and identifies lighting opportunities. During construction, Studio Lux, LLC monitors installation, coordinate fixture locations, assist contractors with equipment installation procedures and produces written punch list reports.

Studio Lux, LLC uses current design technologies including two dimensional and three dimensional renderings, presentations and drawing software.
