Christopher is the founder and principal of Studio Lux, and senior designer. He combines over 20 years of lighting design and electrical engineering experience with artistry and imagination to provide sophisticated and inspired lighting solutions for a variety of architectural settings.

Acclaimed for his success in resolving demanding technical and creative challenges, Christopher has an innate ability to design lighting that bridges aesthetics and functionality. His most recent work in exterior developments, landscapes and high-end residential projects show his talent in lighting diverse environments while maintaining human scale.

As founder and principal, Christopher has built Studio Lux on a foundation of unique designs that bring fresh and human-centered perspectives to architectural lighting. Under his guidance, Studio Lux has completed a host of notable residential and commercial projects throughout the Pacific Northwest.

As a senior designer, Christopher ensures a collaborative approach to the design process. A solid businessman and reliable professional, he works closely with clients to ensure their needs and perspectives are heard and understood by all involved. His strong relationship building skills and collaboration with Seattle's talented architects and interior designers has allowed him to deliver concept-to-completion lighting solutions to homes, hospitals, retail stores and restaurants, corporate offices and civic spaces.

Christopher holds a Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Washington, as well as a Bachelor of Fine Arts from Cornish College of the Arts. He is also an affiliate member of Historic Seattle, a non-profit organization dedicated to architectural preservation.

As Studio Lux manager and senior designer, Jim brings more than 30 years of lighting design experience to the Seattle area. Before joining Studio Lux, Jim was the owner and senior designer of his own firm in San Diego, California. Jim brings exceptional knowledge and fresh ideas for architectural lighting design to the Pacific Northwest.

As manager of the studio, Jim works to ensure that every project leverages the talents of the entire Studio Lux team. By thoroughly understanding the design intent of architects and the creative vision of owners, he guides work with over 1000 manufacturers and fixture design concepts and applies "out-of-the-box" thinking to the studio's lighting solutions.

Jim's main expertise as a designer lies in the public, civic and religious arena. As Senior Designer for several civic projects in the San Diego area, Jim has illuminated such prominent public spaces as the East County Performing Arts Center in El Cajon, the San Diego Hall of Champions, and the Beth Am Synagogue, San Diego.

Jim's residential projects have also shown great versatility. Jim has a unique ability to draw out the human element in any lighting environment. Jim's intriguing blend of dynamic exterior developments and landscapes illustrate highly creative, yet cost effective solutions for high-end residential homes.

Jim has actively served in numerous leadership positions for the Illuminating Engineering Society of North America - at the local, regional and national levels. Jim has also taught numerous lighting design courses throughout the Southern California region.

Jim is a member of the CIE, and served as Treasurer of the United States National Committee of the CIE. He is actively involved in committees of the IESNA (The Library Lighting Committee and Houses of Worship Committee) that write lighting standards. He has been a member of the IESNA Membership Committee for over 20 years and has received recently a Presidential Citation from the President of IESNA for his work.

Jim earned his Bachelor of Science degree from St. Cloud State University.

Kimberly Taylor
Associate Designer

As Associate Designer, Kimberly represents a comprehensive blending of artistic expression and technical expertise. A graduate of Savannah College of Art and Design, Kimberly holds a bachelors degree in Interior Design. Her background provides a fresh perspective to the Studio by bringing a spatial viewpoint to each lighting concept as well as an innate sense of design. Kimberly’s eagerness to undertake new projects and drive to be an active member of the lighting community is evident by being an active member of the Illuminating Engineering Society and attending lectures and classes to further her skills and keep current with the latest lighting developments.

Since joining Studio Lux in 2006 Kimberly has proven to be a well organized, hard working, team player. She offers a consistently, high quality performance in fixture development and specifications, general layout and design, technical installation detail development, coordination between clients, divisions, and design principles, imaging technologies, 3D modeling, presentation development, computer aided drafting, lighting calculations, fixture package pricing and load calculations.

Tracey Turner
CAD Technician

As CAD Technician, Tracy is responsible for creating computer-aided drawings for all design phases, including installation details, as-builts and relamping plans. A focused individual with strong attention to detail and organization, she is ideally suited to create the elaborate, technical documents required in lighting design. In every project she strives to deliver a product that exceeds our clients’ expectations.

A graduate of The Art Institute of Seattle, Tracy holds an Associates of Applied Arts in Interior Design, an education that supports her ability to read, draft and understand construction documents. Since joining Studio Lux in July 2007, she has shown exceptional technical abilities working with CAD software and has become a resource of technical expertise and support to her colleagues. While she is constantly updating her knowledge base in the latest technology trends of lighting design.
