Can this be corrected?
Properly designed lighting can do a lot to relieve eyestrain, a leading
cause of workplace infirmity. Today's office environments have become
highly mobile, monochromatic and physically constraining. Due to high
office space costs, many employees are located in cubicles with no
ability to see out beyond where they sit. Similarly, the location
of their cubicles may not be positioned appropriately with the lighting
fixtures, causing glare and a sub-optimal work environment. Many offices
also lack color - creating an environment with consistent light, consistent
color, glare on computer screens and limited visual adaptation. Thus,
their eyes adjust to just one setting - causing eyestrain and even
headaches.
There are many things that can be done to improve this environment.
From a lighting perspective, cubicles can be repositioned to minimize
glare or the layout can be designed to reposition the fixtures. Another
solution is to create something of interest to look at in the distance,
such as an accented glass sculpture, which allows the eyes to stretch
their muscles through a change in focus. Lighting can help relieve
eyestrain, provide the proper task light, improve productivity, and
create an exciting visual environment for workers to thrive.

How can you best enhance color in a retail store?
Color can be enhanced through the selection of the appropriate lamp
type. Each lamp accentuates a different part of the color spectrum.
It is important to choose lamps that emphasize the colors that are
prominent in your displays. Selecting lamps opposite of display colors
will actually gray the appearance of your product.
